In Messiah 2030 ~ The Prophetic Messianic Timeline - Part 3 we note how Daniel 9:27a is referring to the Messiah based on the continued context of verse 25 and 26. But, since verse 27b mentions the abomination of desolation and we know from Daniel 8, 11, and 12 that the abomination of desolation is related to the "taking away" of the "regular burnt offerings," how is the stoping of the "sacrifice" and "offering" connected to the Messiah and not the abomination of desolation completed by the antichrist in the next verse not the same thing? How does this make any sense?
In agreement with many, we also agree that, in Daniel 9:27b, it is indeed the antichrist that causes the abomination of desolation, which we learn three chapters later in Daniel 12 that such is defined as the "taking away of the הַתָּמִי (regular burnt offerings).
However, in Daniel 9:27 the "He" does not take away the הַתָּמִי (regular burnt offerings). Instead, in Daniel 9:27a we learn that the "He" (the Messiah) takes away the זֶבַח (sacrifice) and the וּמִנְחָה (offering), which is referring specifically to the Holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, as correctly interpreted by the author of Hebrews (Hebrews 10).
We could only include so much in our part 3 presentation and there are substantial challenges in the way of effectively teaching on this matter with absolute clarity. It would take dozens of hours. But this content, in what will hopefully be adequate detail, will be included in part 4 when we review the 3.5-year micro timeline of the Messiah’s second coming. This is easier to teach when reading the Hebrew, but we will do our best to explain using the English translations.
The antichrist takes away the הַתָּמִיד (regular burnt offerings) as noted in Daniel 8:11-13; Daniel 11:31, and Daniel 12:11. Note the same uniting language for all.
In Daniel 9:27, it is that the זֶבַח (sacrifice) and וּמִנְחָה (offering) is put an end to in the midst of the week (3.5 years into the 70th week).
Notice how the language here in Daniel 9:27 is different, in both Hebrew and English, in Daniel 9:27 as compared to what the antichrist does in relation to the “regular burnt offerings (Daniel 8; 11; 12).” This is important and helps us know that something else is taking place and is NOT the same thing. The language is exactly the same for Daniel 8, 11, 12 and is clearly related to the AC. Daniel 9:27 clearly stands alone, which is not surprising when one realizes that the context (verse 26) is related specifically to the Messiah.
Do you see it? This is all so important. Exact words are important. Hebraic context is important.
The antichrist temporarily takes away the regular sacrifices (plural - all ongoing sacrifices)(Daniel 8; 11; 12), while the Messiah puts an end to specifically the Yom Kippur זֶבַח (sacrifice) and וּמִנְחָה (offering) (Daniel 9:27a/Hebrews 10) because our sins are no longer remembered.
How do we know this about the Yom Kippur sacrifice? There are several ways, but the fastest way is to let the author of Hebrews tell us. The alternative is to arrive to the same conclusion through the same means that the author of Hebrews did, but the author of Hebrews understands temple protocol, and most today sadly do not, and even we struggle with it in some ways, so a review of Hebrews 10 usually serves best.
The author of Hebrews mentions this in the context of Yom Kippur. (See Hebrews 10:1-4...blood of bulls/goats regarding sin...high priest entering Holy of Holies once a year...etc.) It is a VERY specific annual sacrifice on what is considered the holiest day of the year, and is also intimately connected to Messiah Yeshua. This is really the whole point and purpose of the book of Hebrews, but Hebrews 10 is the centerpiece. Most in Christianity have no clue as to what this book really teaches, but in all fairness, it is indeed complicated, especially since we are 2,000 years removed from the sacrificial system, all to our disadvantage.
When all of the sacrifices that are to occur regularly in the 1,000-year reign are mentioned in Ezekiel 40-48, the Yom Kippur sacrifice is absent, along with other numerical/sacrificial changes, which are a separate fascinating study.
The future absence of the Yom Kippur sacrifice is not a coincidence and helps solidify he point by the author of Hebrews. It no longer occurs, since 30 C.E., and is not to occur again. The Messiah took that particular sacrifice away by what he did on the cross, by taking away our sin, in which we will explain how. This was fulfilled in the Heavenlies after his ascension and is metaphorically described in detail for those who know the temple protocol language that makes it rather obvious.
The Jews tried to proceed with the Yom Kippur sacrifice for 40 years and the Yom Kippur scarlet thread did not turn white for 40 years. The Yom Kippur sacrifice was rejected until the temple's destruction in 70 C.E. It is through the Messiah only and they rejected the work of the Messiah in 30 C.E. which began the punishment period for the House of Judah per Ezekiel 4 and ends in 2030.
That is why we highlight and stress these verses in that section of the presentation, in order to help the audience understand:
Hebrews 10:10
And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:17-18
then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Yom Kippur is referred to as the day of the "remembrance of sin."
Do you see it?
The sacrificial criteria needed (a remembrance of our sin) for the Yom Kippur sacrifice and offering is now removed (because our sin is no longer remembered) (Hebrews 10:17-18). So, what then happens? The Yom Kippur sacrifice will no longer occur because what produced the annual need for the Yom Kippur sacrifice (remembrance of sin) no longer exists (our sin is no longer remembered). That is the answer.
For those that are confused by that, remember all sacrifices point to Messiah, or can also simply be offerings unto YHWH. Ezekiel 40-48, Zechariah 14, and even Messiah Yeshua stating that he will eat the Passover again when he arrives in the Kingdom (1,000 year reign)(Luke 22:15-16) are just some of the evidences that sacrifices will exist in the 1,000 year reign (most pre-millennial scholars also believe and teach this and is not unique position of The Messiah 2030 Project)
Understanding this takes a vast knowledge of the sacrificial system and specifically the Yom Kippur protocol and relationship to the work of Messiah Yeshua in the first century. We revealed enough in our presentation that those that understand the book of Hebrews well can piece it together, but it really needs to be a stand-alone presentation, and perhaps will be. It takes hours of presentation on this matter alone.
In short...the common denominator and subject matter that unites Daniel 9:27 is the two halves of the 70th week and what is to occur:
9:27a is the Messiah strengthening the covenant via the 3.5 ministry ending with the work on the cross (first three 70th week objectives fulfilled)
9:27b is the scope of the 3.5 year tribulation (as revealed in detail in Daniel 12), which will begin with the abomination of desolation and end with the Messiah destroying the desolator (Antichrist) completing the strengthening of the covenant by completing the remaining three objectives of the 70th week.
Quite honestly, with the embarrassing eschatological doctrines of modern day, mostly because of the error of dispensationalism and that type of thinking, most Christians simply do not stand much of a chance understanding any of this here. But we want to simplify it and show what the teachers of today should know but sadly do not.
What is even worse is that they think they understand Daniel 9 so they are not really open to understanding exactly what is taking place, especially since those that are looked to as the dominant experts really have no clue themselves and perpetuate total confusion, but we will continue trying to do the best that we can to bring more clarity to this.
The reason that you do not want your sins remembered on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is because this is judgement day. The Yom Kippur sacrifice could only cover sins for a year, but next year your sins were remembered and requried another sacrifice. A consious of sins could not be permanently removed. Without the Messiah's sacrifice, we would all be guilty on Yom Kippur. But because our sins are no longer remembered a Yom Kippur sacrifice is not needed, because it already occurred through Messiah Yeshua. It really is the second half to the gospel, in which the first half is related to Passover, and the second half is related to Yom Kippur.
The Passover lamb was tested on the 10th day of the first month (Exodus 12:3).
Yom Kippur occurs on the 10th day of the seventh month (Leviticus 23:27).
This is not an accident. It is the Biblical "bookends" of the prophetic Biblical calendar, that most also do not know, again, all to our own disadvantage. These two moments are the two intimate connections to the Biblical sacrificial system.
We just want all to see the Messiah in the Word. He has been hidden for too long.
In the end the shepherds have failed us, we all need to wake up.
Just before the end, when we enter the land, the shepherds will be exposed:
Ezekiel 34:7-13
“Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: As I live, declares the Lord God, surely because my sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand and put a stop to their feeding the sheep. No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.
“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land.
Now is that time...
