For Jonah’s 3 days & 3 nights prophecy to be fulfilled & to align with the Gospels mentioning there being a High Holy Day (1st Day Feast of Unleavened Bread) prior to the weekly Sabbath, I thought Yeshua had to have died just before dusk on Wednesday. But I think the 14th day of Nisan in 30 C.E. was on a Friday. How can this be reconciled?

For Jonah’s 3 days & 3 nights prophecy to be fulfilled & to align with the Gospels mentioning there being a High Holy Day (1st Day Feast of Unleavened Bread) prior to the weekly Sabbath, I thought Yeshua had to have died just before dusk on Wednesday. But I think the 14th day of Nisan in 30 C.E. was on a Friday. How can this be reconciled? Good question. Thank you. April 5th, 30 C.E. is on a Wednesday. www.timeanddate.com/date/weekday.html?year=30&month=4&day=5 The Passover of Messiah’s death had to be on a Wednesday to be compatible with the scriptures in multiple ways. It is highly important that April 5th is indeed a Wednesday. After the Messiah’s death, his body was rushed to the tomb before being formally prepared for burial. He was simply wrapped, burial cloths. We are told that the spices needed to finish the burial protocol were purchased before (Luke 24:36) AND after the Sabbath (Mark 16:1). How is this possible? It is possible because there are two Sabbaths and thus two separate “days of preparation” that week. The first day of Unleavened Bread, the day after the Messiah’s death is a High Sabbath (Leviticus 23) and the 7th day of the week is the regular 7th day Sabbath. (Biblical days are evening to evening) This means that Passover (14th day) was on Wednesday. Messiah was placed in the tomb just as it was getting dark and becoming the 15th day, Wednesday evening, the first day of the week of Unleavened Bread (a High Sabbath). This Sabbath continued till Thursday evening. That Friday, because it was not a Sabbath, the spices were purchased, which was before AND after a Sabbath (Luke 24:66/Mark 16:1). That Friday at night began the 7th day Sabbath. This continued until Saturday evening, which began the day of Firstfruits and is when our Messiah resurrected. This is important, because a Wednesday death is also necessary to produce the needed three days and three nights for the “sign of Jonah” as Wednesday evening to Saturday evening is exactly three days and three nights. Matthew 12:40For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
