Daniel 8:14 He said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the holy place will be properly restored. Can anyone unpack this? what is this referring to?
I'm still studying and learning and refining. The following is my current understanding. Please do not just believe me. Please study this understanding against all scripture.
2300 evenings and days counts both evenings AND days in that figure. So half that to find out how many 24-hour days: 1150. That's how long the little horn of Dan 8 will take from when He begins to destroy, not just blaspheme, the temple. He takes out each believer, stone by stone, until the temple on earth is no more.
Mt 24:2 And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”
The 9th of Av, Tish’a B’Av: the destruction of both the First Temple and Second Temple in Jerusalem, which occurred about 655 years apart, but on the same Hebrew calendar date. Tisha B’Av is never observed on Shabbat.
www.hebcal.com/holidays/tisha-bav-2030I believe the 2300 days refer to the period (of 1150 24-hour days) between the 9th of Av in the first year of the final 3.5 years-the same year the dead in Christ rise on Passover, the catching up of the man child (the "alive at His coming" firstborns) on Firstfruits, the repentance of the 2 witnesses by second Passover, and the outpouring of a double portion of the Holy Spirit on Shavuot/Pentecost prophesied in Joel. There are 1150 days between the 9th of Av and Yom Teruah, the great resurrection a little over 3 years later, in most calendar years.
My current understanding is that the abomination that makes desolation kicks off on the Feast of Firstfruits, which falls within the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when "the little horn, a rather small horn which grew exceedingly great,...magnified itself to be equal with the Commander of the host" (Dan 8:9-11). But I don't believe the little horn starts killing believers until a number of weeks later, soon after Shavuot, on the 9th of Av. I understand the AoD to be more than just a singular event, but begins on Firstfruits, because the man child being caught up must be addressed. They were taken by Christ and brought to God as His inheritance, the first fruits of all the harvests. You do not come before the Lord during the Feast of Unleavened bread with empty hands (Deut 16:16-17). A sheaf (a small amount) of barley, the first fruit to ripen, is waived before God in gratitude and given as His portion of the full harvest that we trust will come. We trust He will bring our fields to ripeness. It is presented alongside a perfect Lamb (Lev 23:10-12; Rev 4:6) But the little horn isn't going to let that meaning stand, He calls good evil and evil good. If you are interested, please see my post
messiah2030project.boards.net/thread/150/revelation-12 for more scriptures relating to the man child, the firstborn, the AoD explained as events occurring within a defined period not a singular event, and the woman's other sons.
“How long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply, while the transgression causes horror, so as to allow both the holy place and the host to be trampled?” He said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the holy place will be properly restored.” Dan 8:13-14
How long?
From the ninth of Av in the first year of the great Tribulation until the resurrection of the two witnesses and all those who rise at the Greater Exodus on Yom Teruah a little over 3 years (1150 days) later. Until the temple of God [His people who are a temple made by Messiah (2 Sam 7:12-13), not a building made of human hands] remaining on earth are no more, even the two witnesses are killed. His temple on earth is made desolate (Dan 9:27.) Definition of desolate: "deserted of people and in a state of bleak and dismal emptiness."
Properly restored?
all killed, but all with Christ.
Those who were abiding in Christ at their death at the time of the evening sacrifice on Passover in year 1 of the great tribulation (the elders) and those firstborns alive and caught up on Firstfruits in year 1 (the 144,000-a symbolic number) make up the 24 divisions of priests on thrones in inner court of the temple. Passover (Passover/Unleavened Bread/Firstfruits are usually considered "Passover"), first of three feasts in which all clean songs of God are commanded to present themselves before the Lord.) The two witnesses are the two pillars Boaz and Jachin in vestibule of the Lord (2 Chron 29:17) as explained in Hezekiah's account and the two olive trees standing further back from the throne to the left and right of the lampstand (the firstborns) in Zech 4 (having produced oil by their crushing). They were cleansed and ready for consecration at 2nd Passover in year 1 and filled with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost in year 1. The other sons are Levites serving God in the outer courts.
Feast of Trumpets-this is the Greater Exodus (Fall appointed times are on a "national" level) that chiastically links to the resurrection of Firstfruits (appointed times that relate to the individual). How is it the "greater" exodus if all the sons of God (firstborns dead in Christ, firstborns alive in Christ at Firstfruits) are with Christ already? The souls under the altar, the martyr, cry out for judgment, but God raises them (gives them their robes) on Shavuot (the second of three feasts when the clean sons of God are required to appear before God) and says wait until the rest of their fellow servants (the two witnesses) are killed. Three days after the witnesses are killed, interrupting the joyous cries of "Peace! Safety!" because the "cause" of all the wicked's problems are dead, the witnesses are raised on Feast of Trumpets. Along with the witnesses, all the dry bones of Ez 37-the rest of those throughout time that complete the house of "Israel" are brought back to life. Remember Israel is the elect that God has known since before the foundation of the world-both native and non-native. That requires a much longer exposition on many other scriptures, but it may be not just who you think. God, in His glory, will have mercy on who He has mercy and compassion on who He has compassion in a way that completely satisfies His utter holiness. Ex 33, Rom 9.
To be as succinct as I can be, lol, I posit the following: those in the Greater Exodus will be His olive branches known from before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4), both natural and wild (Rom 11:20-21), that were cut off from the vine aka the root of Jesse (Jn 15:6, Is 11:10), and who had their lampstands removed from their intended position within the Holy Place before the glory of God (Rev 2:5). At the time of their death (before or during the great tribulation), they were not grafted in and abiding in Christ. They did not hear or obey what the Spirit says to the churches (Rev 2-3). They were not ripe for harvest, like the first gen wilderness Israelites, so they, too, could not enter His Rest, the promise of His full presence of the seventh day-the MK (Heb 3-4:11). These natural and wild branches (as well as the survivors of the great tribulation and their descendants) will be given shepherds after God's own heart (Jer 3:15) to teach them truth, lead them to love and obey Him and His laws. The seventh day is the "Today" spoken of in Heb 4.
Heb 4:6-7 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
During the MK, His own will ultimately ripen and obey, others will not (from among the descendants of those alive after the great tribulation). "Today" was the last "day" you have to hear and obey his voice. If you harden it now, you have proven you are not His sheep, you refuse to recognize Him as the Good Shepherd. The final separation of His and not His will occur after Satan is loosed for a little while. Final uprising and immediate victory of Christ. The second resurrection. Judgment. Then, finally...after a 1000 years of being commanded to celebrate Sukkot as an appointed time, Sukkot will be fulfilled! All of His own who had not entered His Rest will have been added to the fullness of all the harvests and the final Ingathering celebration can start. He is the Good Shepherd, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb 2:2), that He guided every single one of His sheep through the only Door by which they could enter into the presence of God. No lack of love, compromise, corruption, unfruitfulness, self-sufficiency and pride (Rev 2-3) could enter in. Those sins have been conquered with the Shepherd's rod of iron and the rods of iron given to shepherds after His own heart, the firstborns (and those in Christ when martyred for Him during the tribulation?-I think so, but I'm still searching the scriptures).
Jn 10:27-29 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
Phil 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
The bride has been made ready for the 8th day, the Great Day, when all His own will live in their permanent dwelling with God-each person in their forever bodies with their sin-free, circumcised heart (Ez 36:26) in our permanent promised land, the new heaven and earth. No more sukkahs!
I may eventually post more about the final fulfillment of the spring appointed times. The final fulfillment of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits of the Barley, second Passover, and Shavuot is still ahead. Understanding Gods' Spring appointed times in relation to end times helps us understanding more fully
the sign of Jonah
how the days of creation, and appointed times, link up as a chiasmus (and a chiasm within the chiasmus.)
why graves opened when the Passover Lamb died and then walked about the city
why Jesus put His saliva in with dirt and put the mud on the blind man's eyes who then had to wash
why Jesus put His saliva on a man's eyes and why that man saw men like trees, and why he needed a second touch for clear sight
why a second Passover is needed
who the 2 witnesses are
how the sons of God living in the period known as the Great Tribulation foreshadow the purpose of the Millennial Kingdom
why "Come" is spoken to John, then only with the first 4 of the seals
what the 4 seals are
and more.
Studying the Word deeply with fervent prayer is the most rewarding and life changing thing a believer can do. It inspires a fruitful life lived for God with a whole heart. It turns tribulation into joy and gives sight to the blind. Even if you start to study Revelation as revealed throughout the entirety of scripture merely to satisfy curiosity or out of fear, it will change you so it, as well as your life, becomes motivated by pure love for and awe of the glory and mercy of our Father.
Highly recommend, 10 out of 10, lol.
