We do not have any issues with those that use BC & AD. We understand the reasoning behind it. Most understand why we use BCE and CE after we explain it.
We use the scholarly accepted BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era) verses BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, Latin for “in the year of the Lord”) because scholars now know that the Messiah was born between 5 BCE and 1 BCE and not any later, and not everyone understands that (we subscribe to 5 BCE). Because of this, the terms BC and AD are not truth as the Messiah would have had to be born in 1 CE, which is not possible because of the date of the death of Herod. BC and AD are about 2-4 years off in correct dating.
We are a ministry that attempts to be Biblically accurate in everything we do, and this would be part of it. For whatever it is worth, that is our reasoning behind it. We are unable to use terms that are not true as we value integrity and desire to mitigate opportunity for valid criticism.
In addition, we take no issue with our Messiah not being associated with a pagan calendar, and because we follow the Messiah we would prefer to simply keep him in the Biblical calendar where he belongs. We hope that helps clarify the issue. We are confident that when the Messiah returns, he will not be using BC or AD, or the Gregorian calendar at all.
