Couldn't the first half of the week be the 3.5 days from the coming of Jesus to Jerusalem on a donkey until his crucification? And the second half being his death and resurrection? The last "week", or 7 years is divided into two equal time periods of 3 1/2 years, I'm not following the 3.5 days.

The Messiah isn’t cut off at the 69th week, the scripture says that the Messiah is cut off after 69 weeks, making it the begining of the 70th week. ”So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with streets and moat, even in times of distress. Then after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.” New American Standard Bible. The Lockman Foundation, 2020, p. Da 9:25–26. Correct, but the problem still remains since they state that the 70th week begins when Jesus starts His earthly ministry, which is 3 1/2 years before His crucifixion, thus the timeline is messed up. So I'm just asking when the 69th week ended and when the 70 week began, either a date or an event to indicate each. Glen, the timeline -from my understanding- that they use is the 3 1/2 years (first part) of Jesus' ministry was fulfilled from 27AD- 30AD. I believe this is the 1st half of the 69th- 70th week. (Remember 70 weeks are determined meaning if 1 year is determined at the lapse of 1 year then it is fulfilled) - so the 70th "week or shabua" would be fulfilled at the end of the 69th "week". Meaning we have (half of a week) 3& 1/2 years left ironically would begin 2027 (Gregorian) and end 2030. - Someone correct me if I am wrong, this is just my understanding.

It's all good, but thanks mkenn. We both agree almost to the day when the last 3 1/2 year period begins even tho we came to that conclusion differently. But thanks for the explanation.
